The shale-walled ravines the river has cut through the village are the hard constraint. They concentrate runoff, they are steep enough to need the remote-controlled machine, and they are frequently the most attractive part of the property. We work the shoulders and leave the ravine itself alone unless there is a reason not to.
On parcels this size the honest question is how little needs to come out. Opening a sightline, recovering a paddock, taking back the understory along a drive — these are hundreds of feet of work on a five-acre lot, not a full clear, and pricing them as full acreage would be dishonest.
Understory here is mostly invasive at this point. Honeysuckle and multiflora rose have filled the ground layer under mature canopy across much of the village, and grinding the root crown is the most effective mechanical control available — though anyone promising one pass ends it is selling you something.
