Professional Land Clearing Equipment — Cat-on-Cat Integrated System

Not garden tractors. Not generic skid steers. The Cat 275 XE Land Management CTL paired with the Cat HM418 Mulcher — the best equipment pairing in the land clearing industry. Plus the FAE RCU 55 remote-controlled mulcher for terrain that challenges even the best conventional machines.

Primary Carrier

Cat 275 XE Land Management CTL

The 275 XE replaces the legendary Cat 299 in Cat’s next-generation lineup. It is not a general-purpose skid steer repurposed for mulching. The 275 XE is designed from the ground up for land management — with the Landscape Management package that adds a roof-mounted auxiliary hydraulic cooler, side-mounted fuel tanks for a lower center of gravity, and debris guarding that keeps the machine running all day in the worst conditions.

The XE hydraulic system delivers 40 GPM at 4,496 PSI — the highest hydraulic flow in its class. This is not marketing. Higher flow means the mulching drum maintains speed through dense hardwood instead of bogging down. The operator keeps moving. Jobs get done faster. The machine does not overheat.

At 4.5 PSI ground pressure, the 275 XE exerts less force on the ground than a person walking. Your lawn, your fields, your trails — the machine clears the vegetation without destroying the turf underneath. The new larger cab provides 22% more volume and 26% more foot room with integrated heating and cooling, because an operator who is comfortable is an operator who does better work.

Primary Mulching Attachment

Cat HM418 Mulcher

Purpose-built for the 275 XE — the carrier automatically recognizes the HM418 and optimizes hydraulic flow through Smart Attachment technology. This is not a bolt-on third-party attachment. It is a Cat product designed, tested, and optimized specifically for Cat carriers.

The HM418’s 38 fixed carbide teeth spin on a drum that covers a 67.2-inch working width. A dual speed axial piston motor lets the operator match drum speed to vegetation density — faster for light brush, slower and more powerful for dense hardwood. The adjustable push frame gives the operator control over how trees are positioned during mulching, which is critical for fence line work and selective clearing.

The hydraulically operated front hood is what separates a professional mulching head from a cheap one. Closing the hood produces a finer mulch finish. Opening it allows larger material to pass through. The operator adjusts on the fly based on what the customer wants — fine mulch that looks like landscaping, or coarser chips for functional ground cover. A color-coded pressure gauge provides real-time feedback so the operator always knows how hard the machine is working.

Why Cat-on-Cat Matters

Most operators bolt a third-party mulching head onto whatever machine they can afford. We invested in the matched system. Here is why that matters for your job.

🔗
Smart Attachment Recognition
When the Cat 275 XE detects the HM418, it automatically configures hydraulic flow, pressure, and response curves. No manual adjustment. No guesswork. The carrier and attachment communicate electronically.
⚙️
Matched Hydraulic Flow
The 275 XE delivers 40 GPM. The HM418 is designed for 40-41 GPM optimal flow. A perfect match means the mulcher runs at peak efficiency without the carrier straining or the attachment starving for hydraulics.
📞
Single-Dealer Service
One phone call handles carrier and attachment issues. When your mulching head and your carrier come from the same manufacturer, there is no finger-pointing between vendors when something needs attention.
📊
Integrated Diagnostics
The Cat dealer reads diagnostic codes from both the 275 XE and the HM418 through the same interface. Machine health, attachment performance, and maintenance schedules are managed as a single system.

“The machine everybody wants to be in... 1,000 hours without any breakdowns is beyond impressive.”

Steep Terrain Specialist

FAE RCU 55 Remote-Controlled Mulcher

When the terrain is too steep for the 275 XE, the FAE RCU 55 goes where conventional equipment cannot. This is a fully remote-controlled tracked mulcher designed for slopes up to 55 degrees. The operator stands at a safe distance with a handheld controller while the machine works the slope.

Steel tracks and a low center of gravity give the RCU 55 stability on terrain that would tip a standard compact track loader. Creek banks, retention ponds, highway embankments, and steep residential hillsides — the RCU 55 handles terrain that most operators refuse to attempt.

Remote operation is not a gimmick. It is the only safe way to mulch on slopes where a rollover would be catastrophic. The operator has full control of direction, speed, and mulching drum from solid ground. Safety is built into the machine, not added as an afterthought.

Satellite Assessment

Professional equipment is only half the equation. The other half is knowing exactly what a job requires before the machine unloads from the trailer.

🛰️
Remote Measurement
We measure acreage, assess brush density, identify access points, and evaluate terrain from satellite imagery. 90% of residential jobs are quoted accurately without a site visit.
⏱️
15-Minute Quotes
Satellite assessment turns a 2-hour site visit into a 15-minute quote. You get an accurate fixed price faster. We schedule more efficiently. Everyone benefits.
💰
Fixed Pricing
Because we assess before quoting, the price we give is the price you pay. No hourly billing that punishes you for having thick brush. No surprise charges when the job takes longer than expected.
📋
Job Planning
We know the equipment, approach, and time required before arriving. The right machine shows up for the right job. No wasted mobilization. No mid-job equipment swaps.
